Lina Medina of Peru is the world’s youngest person to ever give birth.  Dr. Gerardo Lozada  delivered  Lina’s baby by cesarean section in 1939.   When she delivered her child she was 5 years old.  Her parents took her to the doctor because they believed she had a tumor. After the physician examined Lina he announced that she was actually 7 months pregnant.

As it turned out, Lina was diagnosed with precocious puberty. A condition where the reproductive organs develop too early, for Lina this was around the age of 2.5 years. When she was examined at the age of five her reproductive organs were fully developed.

Lina’s baby weighed 2.7 kilograms and the family named the child Gerardo, after the physician who delivered him. Gerardo died at the age of 40 from bone marrow disease.  Lina’s son was told that Lina was his sister until he reached the age of 10.

Sadly, Lina was a victim of sexual abuse and her father was initially jailed for the crime.  He was later released due to lack of solid evidence.  Lina married a man named Raul Jurado and in 1972 she gave birth again. Lina is now 81 and she has still never revealed the name of her abuser or the father of her first child.

What do you think about this?  I have to chirp in here and say I think it’s pretty horrific!  Comment below!
