  • Hello Everyone,
This is my first post in the forum and I am currently in the alternative program PNAP and have been for almost 3 years. I am trying to figure out what option 10 is in the random screening and why it is so very expensive. I don’t usually get this test when I am called to test, so I am confused why they are asking for it now and…[Read more]

  • I have been in recovery for a very long time now and I recently had my first experience taking narcotics that were legally prescribed to me.

I have been seeing an addictionologist for my addiction to narcotics and he prescribes me methadone and suboxone. I have also had legitimate and documented real disorders and diseases for which doctors…[Read more]

  • Tetanus shots hurt a lot. As long as you used proper technique you should be fine. I remember when I was about to take my finals I had to have a tetanus shot and I was also getting a flu shot. The nurse told me that the Tetanus shot would hurt and asked me which arm I wanted it in. I am right handed, so I told her to please make sure that you put…[Read more]

  • Thank you, everyone, for your feedback. This is just scary because my license is my lifeline and I cant end up homeless with a family to support. If there are any negative repercussions against me I will hire an attorney and also sue the individual that started all this drama –

  • The evidence must prove that you are guilty before the board can take legal action. At least that’s the way it was for me and they never had any evidence so they closed the case and that was the end of it. I did have a lot of restless nights before that. But there are…

  • Hi, First of all, don’t panic. I know this must be a scary situation for you but it will all work out. If you are truly not guilty of diverting narcotics then they will have to tell you what evidence they have on you before they discipline your license. The proceedings are different in every…

  • I just have a question for anyone that can give me any feedback. So there is a nurse I work with spreading nasty rumors about me saying that I have diverted narcotics and I have been suspended with no evidence. I have not taken any meds for my own personal use! And now the state…

  • When you’re in the Affinity program they can ask you to test for various tests as they decide and this can be quite confusing to new participants. They will usually do a regular one and then throw in a different one here and there that is usually a little more expensive. If they ask you…

That particular drug screen panel is testing Benzodiazepines, cocaine, barbiturates, opiates, phencyclidine, ethanol U, meperidine, propoxyphene, amphetamines, oxycodone, oxymorphone, cannabinoid, tramadol, ethyl glucuronide, and methadone. Hope this helps

  • Affinity drug panel C-737675 What is this drug panel? I’ve been in the program for an alternative to discipline now for four months and it’s always the same panel that they ask for when I am called to do a drug screen. But this time it’s different. I’m trying to find out what this drug screen panel is and why they would have changed it from what…[Read more]

  • License renewal fears. I have a license in a compact state and I live in a compact state. I also have 3 other licenses in other states that will all be up for renewal soon. The BON where I live is aware that I have three other licenses. But I just don’t know how to handle this situation.

On the renewal form where it asks if you have ever had a…[Read more]

  • If you find your niche then you’ll never work a day in your life. It’s a very exciting career and my daughter just decided she wants to become a nurse and I am thrilled because I know that no matter how bored she gets in one job she can move to another. You can do trauma nursing, ICU nursing and ER nursing to start. These specialties are very…[Read more]

  • I am a nurse working in orthopedics and I am seeing what the DEA has done to the real patients who are legitimately in pain.
The government is holding each doctor’s license over their heads and scrutinizing everything they do instead of allowing doctors to be doctors. It’s pathetic. I see patients suffering from real pain, but our doctors are so…[Read more]

  • I am looking for some information regarding the FNP programs and transfer of credit hours for FNP. I would like to have an online program that will take the credits I have already earned from another online FNP program.
It’s not like I only have 4 or 5 credits. I have a8 credit hours right now and I would hate to lose those. I need to change…[Read more]

  • I’m speechless. I can’t believe some of the stories here and I am currently wrestling with the board to keep my license. I sighed up for 6 years in an alternative program. I really want to make sure that I do everything right so I’m glad I found this group. I can’t understand why my employer wants to take away my unemployment now and they also…[Read more]

  • A great site for sure.

    • Yes, I’m planning on creating a group on here for the nurses in recovery in my facility

      • Glad to be here. That’s a good idea Amy. I think I may do that too

        • Yes, I’m a nurse educator and I think this would be a good place to allow my group of nurses to connect together, especially since the groups can be made private.
