  • The board of nursing won’t advocate or negotiate with you. SO it’s never a good idea to give them anything to chew on. Not hiring an attorney could be the difference between doing 1-year probation or 5. There are attorneys that deal with only nurses, all day and that’s all they do. That is what you need in a situation like that.

  • Hello,
Welcome to the group. YOu’ll find a lot of knowledgeable nurses here. Sorry that you’re going through probation. There are some facilities that will hire you. I suggest you never give up and send your resume to everyone you can.

Good luck to you and keep us posted

  • Thank you, everyone, for your feedback. This is just scary because my license is my lifeline and I cant end up homeless with a family to support. If there are any negative repercussions against me I will hire an attorney and also sue the individual that started all this drama

  • The evidence must prove that you are guilty before the board can take legal action. At least that’s the way it was for me and they never had any evidence so they closed the case and that was the end of it. I did have a lot of restless nights before that. But there are some really nasty people in this world and some will do anything and say…[Read more]

  • Hi,

First of all, don’t panic. I know this must be a scary situation for you but it will all work out. If you are truly not guilty of diverting narcotics then they will have to tell you what evidence they have on you before they discipline your license. The proceedings are different in every state.

It seems strange that your employer suspended…[Read more]

  • I just have a question for anyone that can give me any feedback. So there is a nurse I work with spreading nasty rumors about me saying that I have diverted narcotics and I have been suspended with no evidence. I have not taken any meds for my own personal use! And now the state has been contacted. I’m pissed! If my documentation is all there the…[Read more]

When you’re in the Affinity program they can ask you to test for various tests as they decide and this can be quite confusing to new participants. They will usually do a regular one and then throw in a different one here and there that is usually a little more expensive. If they ask you…

  • Affinity drug panel C-737675 What is this drug panel? I’ve been in the program for an alternative to discipline now for four months and it’s always the same panel that they ask for when I am called to do a drug screen. But this time it’s different. I’m trying to find out what this drug screen panel is and why they would have changed it from what…[Read more]

  • License renewal fears. I have a license in a compact state and I live in a compact state. I also have 3 other licenses in other states that will all be up for renewal soon. The BON where I live is aware that I have three other licenses. But I just don’t know how to handle this situation.

On the renewal form where it asks if you have ever had a…[Read more]

  • Regarding monthly self-reports.
What a joke they are. I have been in this alternative program for four years now and just got a false positive. I’m really surprised they haven’t completely revoked my license because I gave them hell in the monthly self-report. I do not drink alcohol or do drugs any longer and haven’t for many years now. Then…[Read more]

  • If you find your niche then you’ll never work a day in your life. It’s a very exciting career and my daughter just decided she wants to become a nurse and I am thrilled because I know that no matter how bored she gets in one job she can move to another. You can do trauma nursing, ICU nursing and ER nursing to start. These specialties are very…[Read more]
