Wonderful advice from a wonderful admin. We have all been through what you’re going through and we know it’s extremely frightening. But you will get through it and there will be a light at the end of the tunnel if you do this right. It’s not the end of your career but it will be a setback for you unfortunately.
We are all here for you if you…[Read more]

More than likely Sarah the Board of Nursing will conduct an investigation on your license. In Most states, there is a program for nurses who have problems with addiction and have diverted medications from work. It is possible that they will send you a cease-and-desist letter and at that point, you will need to stop working.
This is a very serious…[Read more]

Pretty Sound Advice here. I’m so glad I found this group. It’s nice to know that things here can be discussed without them being all over the internet. Get another job as soon as possible before anything appears on your license or you get a cease and desist letter from the Board of Nursing

Hi and welcome to the group. Sorry all this is happening to you. Only a nurse is the owner of this website and gives very good advice. I agree with her.
Definitely resign from your position and don’t give a reason why. Don’t speak to the board of nursing about anything without the presence of an attorney. Never admit to anything, especially in…[Read more]

I’m in Colorado and mine is for 3 years. I think if you have a good attorney that’s important. I think it also depends on what you are charged with to begin with. I know it seems like a lifetime when you’re in this program. It’s ridiculous really. But stick with it, you will get through it.

Hi there, and welcome to the group. If I were you I would not tell the doctor that you are getting medications from the director of nursing at your facility and taking medications that are prescription but are not prescribed for you. Not only can’t you get yourself in trouble but you could get its director of nursing in trouble as well.
It has…[Read more]
